思路 用待定系数法求函数表达式,通常要先求某些点的坐标。由于对任意实数$x$都有$y1=y2$,可得到对称轴,从而求出A,B两点的坐标,再由题意求出顶点的坐标即可。 解答 由题意,抛物线的对称轴为直线$x=4$,又$AB=6$,可得抛物线与x轴的交点坐标为(1,0)和(7,0),设抛物线的函数表达式为$y=a(x-1)(x-7)$。因为恰好有三个不同的$x$值使得$\triangle ABP$的面积为24,所以顶点纵坐标为±8,即顶点的坐标为(4,8)或(4,-8)。把顶点的坐标代入表达式,解得$a=±9$。
